Richard Madeley has been taken to hospital after falling ill overnight on the set of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here.
An ITV spokesperson told the Mirror : "Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team.
"He's since been taken to hospital as a precaution.
the health and safety of our campmates is our priority."
The presenter, 65, was seen on Wednesday night crawling headfirst through a pipe full of rotten fruit and vegetables.
Madeley is best known for presenting This Morning alongside his wife Judy Finnigan.
A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said : "We were called at 5.43am this morning, Thursday 25 November 2021, to reports of a medical emergency at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Conwy.
'we sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance to the scene, and one patient was taken to hospital."
Medics on the ITV show rushed to the camp in Gwrych Castle, where it is filmed, to attend to the 65-year-old.
The Castle Kitchen Nightmares task saw him hunt for 10 hidden stars in a kitchen "full of castle critters" after a public vote.
Oh, it's freezing."
After searching in dark chambers for 10 minutes, as fish guts and offal fell on him, Madeley managed to get four out of 10 stars, securing a meal of squirrel for his camp-mates.
"i really hope i do get voted for the trials," he said.
the thing about this programme is you mustn't go in to it if you take yourself remotely seriously."
"I will ask questions in camp.
The broadcaster, 65, who took part in his first solo trial which saw him covered in fish guts and rotting fruit during Wednesday's show, was treated by medics before being taken for treatment as a precautionary measure.
After news of Richard's hospitalisation broke, his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid also took to Twitter to offer her well wishes.
He was left disappointed after returning from the trial with only four stars out of ten after struggling to untie knots.
That's why I want people to vote for me to do the trials. '
i don't and i am thoroughly looking forward to being covered in god knows what!
This isn't the first time that a star taking part in I'm A Celeb has fallen ill and has had to pull out of the show.
In 2019, soap actor Cliff Parisi was also forced to drop out of a Bushtucker Trial after being taken ill. *I'm A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV
